The available maximum towing capacity of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD has increased by a staggering 52 percent to 35,500 pounds for 5th wheel trailering. That’s thanks in large part to the all-new Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission coupled with the available Duramax 6.6-liter V-8 Turbo-Diesel engine on the 3500HD model. When properly equipped, that 35,500 pounds of towing is at your disposal for the heaviest of your lifting responsibilities. That mighty combination produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine for the 2020 Silverado HD is a new 6.6-liter V-8 gasoline with direct injection. That one doles out 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque.
